News

– As of today, Wednesday 8th May 2013, Iron Man 3 has taken over $711 million at the box office after 14 days internationally, including a $175 million opening weekend in the US. It is the second biggest opening ever after, you guessed it, The Avengers.
– Zoe Saldana is now confirmed to play Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy. It will be done entirely with makeup, and not CG or performance capture.
– Luke Evans has been cast as The Crow in the newest of adaptation James O’Barr’s comics. He’ll next be seen in Fast & Furious 6.
– Sony has commissioned Oren Uziel to pen Men in Black 4. Isn’t that R.I.P.D? He’ll also be writing the sequel to 21 Jump Street.
– AOL has announced that it will shut down Comics Alliance, a website that has long highlighted artists and given excellent opinion pieces. It will be very missed.

Comic sales in April – Marvel leaps ahead of DC, Batman still rules and Image is growing fast
