News Headlines

– DC has declared June Superman month. To celebrate the 75th birthday, there will be the new Superman: Unchained comic and, of course, the Man of Steel film. A new short animated film from Zack Snyder and Bruce Timm was also announced.
– Both Glenn Close and former Doctor Who companion Karen Gillan were announced for Guardians of the Galaxy. Gillan is set to play the lead female villain, while Close will play a leadership role within the Nova Corps. Worldmind anyone?
– Benicio del Toro has also been cast as a lead in the film, in an undisclosed role that is said to be locked in for several Marvel films.
– Patrick Stewart spoke at Comicpalooza about X-Men: Days of Future Past. He also gave an inspiring speech about combatting domestic violence at the same time.
Thor: The Dark World composer Carter Burwell has left the production due to creative differences.
Iron Man 3 has now grossed $1.18 billion worldwide, making it the fifth highest grossing film of all time.
– Australia’s rugby league team the Melbourne Storm will be wearing and selling limited edition Man of Steel jerseys for a game at the end of June.
– DC have announced that September is Forever Evil. In addition to a new 7-issue mini-series, and several tie-ins, the villains are taking over the main titles for the month with…wait for it…3D motion covers!
