News Headlines

  • A sequel to Man of Steel has been announced. Directed by Zack “Snack” Snyder and written by David S. Goyer, it is likely to be titled Batman vs. Superman.
  • Meanwhile, Marvel has announced that the Avengers sequel will be called Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, writer/director Joss Whedon has confirmed it will not be based on the comic of the same name.
  • On the small screen, Arrow: Season 2  sees actress Caity Lotz join as Dinah Drake/Black Canary. Also joining are Michael Jai White and Kevin Alejandro, playing villains Bronze Tiger and Sebastian Blood respectively.
  • In comics news, Kieron Gillen and Adam Kubert will team up from November for Wolverine: Origin II, a sequel to the 2002 mini-series series.
  • Marvel are releasing something called Revolutionary War, a limited series written by Andy Lanning and Alan Cowsill,in January 2014. It promises a return of Marvel UK characters and the Marvel UK imprint.
  • Marvel will launch two new X-Men series:  Amazing X-Men by Jason Aaron and artist Ed McGuinness, and Longshot Saves The Marvel Universe
  • Writer Chuck Palahniuk has announced that he is working on a sequel to Fight Club…in graphic novel form!
  • The SMASH! Sydney Manga and Anime Show returns on 10 August 2014. Offering cosplay, artist alleys and more, check their website for more details.
  • The Eisner Award winners were announced, with Saga, Hawkeye and Building Stories all big winners. (Full list can be found here).
