Cover Story: Best Comic Book Covers of June 2015

Cursed Pirate Girl Annual #1 (BOOM!/Archaia) - Artist: Jeremy Bastian

Each month, hundreds of comics are released to stores for the hungry masses of fans around the world. To stand out on the shelves, you have to put the great art up front. You can judge a book by its cover. This is Cover Story.

Cover StoryWelcome back to our continuing monthly column. With almost 40 covers this month, it’s fair to say it’s one of the more prolific months in recent memory.

DC launched a whopping number of issue #1s throughout June, and we wanted to include them all. We just about did, as they ranged from the punk (Annie Wu’s Black Canary), spine-tingling (Riley Rossmo’s Constantine: The Hellblazer), to the just plain different (Greg Capullo’s Batman). Bizarro barely bother to stick around to pose for his cover, but Amanda Conner might take the cake by trolling Lee Bermejo’s We Are Robin cover with her own Harley Quinn twist.

However, it might just be Jeremy Bastian who takes the cake with the sheer level of detail on the beautiful Cursed Pirate Girl Annual. Don’t forget to vote for your favourite in the comments section below!
