Film: ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ wraps principal photography, Joss Whedon tweets

Avengers: Age of Ultron concept

There was a time when the end of shooting would be announced via a lengthy press release, or the trade publications would post something concerned expected revenue for the studio. Yet it seems that for Avengers: Age of Ultron it is also the age of social media, with Joss Whedon announcing the wrap of shooting with two pictorial tweets.

Pondering what to do next and thanking his cast and crew, it marks the end of shoot that began in Johannesburg on 11 February. In mid-March, it moved to Shepperton Studios near London, and eventually took in other UK locations, Italy and Korea. During the Italian shoot, we got our best look at the characters so far, particularly the new additions of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Footage from the film was screening during Comic-Con International in San Diego in July this year.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is released on 23 April 2015 in Australia, and 1 May 2015 in the US.
