Jaimie Alexander talks ‘Thor 3’, Wonder Woman and Sif spin-off

"Marvel's Thor: The Dark World" - Sif (Jaimie Alexander

Jaimie Alexander has been interviewed by Forbes in anticipation of the domestic release of Thor: The Dark World, a film that has already taken $45.2 million internationally and is arguably one of the grandest films in the franchise so far. We say so in our review right here. In her chat with the source, she talks about a third Thor film being a strong possibility given the already good numbers on the second, the chances of a Sif spin-off and her chats with the Distinguished Competition about a certain Wonder Woman.

In regards to the immediate future of the Thor franchise, Alexander remains confident that it will be moving ahead:

“I hope they enjoy the movie as much as we did making it, and I can only pray for strong numbers, because when there are strong numbers there’s going to be a third one.”

This is not necessarily confirmation of a third film, so much as a statement on the inevitability of sequels for films that perform well. Indeed, the chances of the Marvel films going away any time soon is pretty slim. Similarly, Alexander’s desire to saddle up as Sif in her own film doesn’t guarantee it, but the prospect is an exciting one for a character that plenty of room to grow on-screen:

“I would love for there to be a spinoff film. I would absolutely say ‘yes!’ If the fans want it and there’s a strong enough desire for it, it will happen. So, fingers crossed!”

Of course, the big revelation was that the actress may have been in some kind of talks with DC/Warner about Wonder Woman and the Batman vs. Superman film, admitting that she “kind of knows the story line for that movie.”

“I’m a huge fan of Wonder Woman. I really think if this is the closest that we’re ever going to get to Wonder Woman, then I’m proud to play Sif. I hope that other comic book entities can learn a lesson from Marvel in how to execute a female character the way it should be done…I really would like to one day see a Wonder Woman film or Wonder Woman character, but until it’s done with class, I’d rather it not be done.”
