Joss Whedon talks Avengers 2, Thanos and Robert Downey Jr

Joss Whedon - Avengers 2

The folks at DesdeHollywood managed to chat with Marvel Cinematic Universe architect Joss Whedon at the Iron Man 3 premiere, and got his opinions on potentially replacing Robert Downey Jr, the villains of The Avengers 2 and his views for the future.

After speaking about not worrying about replacing RDJ for the next chapter, he goes on to talk about how The Avengers could potentially be threatened, confirming Thanos is a major part of those plans.

Well, Thanos is more powerful. He is so powerful he is not someone you can just try out and punch him. Like he did in the comics, you want him to threading through the universe and to save the big finale for ‘the big finally’. He is definitely a part of what I have got going on.

The thing about the Avengers is that they are very powerful but not very stable. So, there will definitely be some people that will shake them up in the next installment.

The source implies that this means Thanos will end up in a third Avengers film, but we read this as seeing Thanos somewhere in the next few films. Your move, Thor: The Dark World.

The Avengers 2 is released on 1 May 2015 from Disney.
