‘Justice League Canada’ to replace ‘Justice League of America’

Justice League Canada

We checked the calendar, and despite the Ben Affleck announcement today, it is not April. Coming off the back of that bombshell, Canadian writer Jeff Lemire told the The Star in Toronto today that Justice League of America will become Justice League of Canada in the North American spring.

The move to Canada will come as a result of the “Trinity War” aftermath and the fallout resulting from Forever Evil. The remaining heroes will be forced to head north of the border and undergo some dramatic roster shifts.

“As a result of that, without spoiling any of that story, there will be major changes in the Justice Leagues, and in the spring, the current Justice League of America team goes through a dramatic change and some of the pieces that are left behind will evolve into this new Justice League Canada team.”

Lemire didn’t specify the exact members of the line-up, but he did promise a dream team, a Canadian Adam Strange and the introduction of a new Canadian hero. “I’m trying to make a character that reflects a real part of our cultural identity, who could be a real Canadian teenager,” Lemire told the source.

The wonderful writer has been doing amazing things with Justice League Dark, Green Arrow and the recently debuted Trillium, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for us with this intriguing new book.
