‘Justice League: War’ is next DC Animated Original Movie

Justice League #1 - Jim Lee

With Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox set to debut at San Diego Comic-Con International next week, publicist Gary Miereanu has confirmed that Justice League: War, based on the New 52 version of the titular super group, will be the next DC Animated Original Movie.

From his Twitter account, Miereanu posted the following:

This would logically follow The Flashpoint Paradox, assuming the entire cinematic animated movie universe follows the same fate that the comics one did in 2011. Unlike the previously released animated movie, which have mostly taken distinct and classic stories from the history of DC Comics, this seems to be an attempt to created a unified DC Animated Cinematic Universe. Will this ultimately lead us to a Trinity War animated film? We hope there are still a few classic stories left in the animated chest.

This first arc is the story of how Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg came together to form the Justice League to fight the global threat of Darkseid and Apokolips.

No release date has been confirmed yet, but expect to hear more at SDCC.
