Deadline reports that Zack “Snack” Snyder’s Man of Steel is halfway to the billion-dollar club as it passed $500 million globally at the box office. This was after another successful weekend in which $27 million was pulled domestically and another $18.9 million internationally over the weekend.

This total includes $248.7 million domestically and $271.7 million internationally for a worldwide total of $520.4 million. The film already made history when it opened at #1 in the US and Canada, breaking June box office records for an opening weekend of $125.1 earlier last month.

Opening last week here in Australia, the film grossed over $9.4 million nationwide from Wednesday to Sunday, making it the No. 1 film in the country. The film is still to open in Brazil and Japan.

The “Snack Joint” stars Henry Cavill as Superman, the film reboots the film franchise for an expanded DC Cinematic Universe. It also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as Zod, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Russell Crowe as Jor-El.
