Powers has been announced as a new PlayStation exclusive series from December, while the new trailer for NBC’s Constantine reveals characters from the wider DC universe.

At a special presentation during Sony’s E3 presentation in Los Angeles, writer Brian Michael Bendis took to the stage to announce that an adaptation of his Powers series will arrive on PlayStation in the US this December. For PlayStation Plus members, the series will be available to watch for free!

Based on the creator-owned comic by Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, the duo will executive produce. The show will be written by Charlie Huston, and Remi Aubuchon (Falling Skies) will be the other showrunner.

The show follows two homicide detectives who investigate crimes relating to people with (you guessed it) “powers”.

Meanwhile, another trailer has been released for NBC’s Constantine. Set to premiere on NBC in the US on 24 October this year, from executive producer David S. Goyer and director Neil Marshall, the series has already started a buzz online with one of the first (mostly) accurate portrayals of the title character in years.

Now fans have even more reason to be excited in this first spot for the pilot episode, briefly showcasing the helmet of Doctor Fate, and suggesting that characters from outside the immediate Constantine circle will be making an appearance in the show.

Now if only DC can get it right on the big screen.
