Visit the Australian Cartoonists’ Association ‘Cartoons Galore!’ Exhibition at City of Ryde’s Hungry For Art Exhibition

Exhibition is on from Saturday 24 August 2013 at Top Ryde City and will run through until the 7 September!

The City of Ryde comes to life with an exciting arts and cultural festival transforming the region into a vibrant hub of creative activity and connecting people to place.

Offering sculpture, painting, drawing, ceramics, new media art, exhibitions, art-making workshops as well as music, performance and food events HUNGRY FOR ART showcases some of the best creative talent living and working in the region.

The “Hungry for Art” organizers are expecting three “PopUp” events for Cartoons Galore!:

  • Saturday 24th of August: 12-noon to 2pm: Official Opening. Launch of Cartoons Galore! exhibition by the Australian Cartoonists’ Association, from 12 noon – 2pm on the ground floor outside Myer. Come and meet the cartoonists and watch a cartoon being drawn!  Rob Feldman will be Master Of Ceremonies, and artists Rob Feldman, Dani Vittz, Jock Brodie, Lindsay Foyle, Roger Fletcher, Buddy Ross, Tim McEwen, Louie Joyce, Bize, Peter Lewis, Glen Le Lievre, Steve Panozzo, Paul Caggegi, Adi Firth, Robert Luxford, Peter Byrne, and Christophe Granet have confirmed attendance.
  • Thursday 29th of August: 6pm – 9pm: In case you can’t make it on the Saturday, or you want to see more…it’s another Art PopUp!
  • Sunday 1st September: Official “Hungry for Art” trail (10am – 5pm): Local artists will open their doors to the public and reveal what really happens inside the studio.  Visit the studios of Garry Foye, Mitsuo and Chris Shoji, Peter Porteous, Wendy Hope, Shirley Peters, Lyndall Graham, Mark Fallone, John Woodland, Marg Somerville and Therese McKenzie, Susan Lee and Jennifer Chang. The Cartoons Galore! exhibit is part of the trail.
