It’s July, which means that the second season of Arrow has begun production. Star Stephen Amell announced the start of shooting when he tweeted the image below. Producer Marc Guggenheim also shared a production meeting photo this week. Arrow returns to The CW on 9 October 2013.
THR also reports that actress Summer Glau has joined the cast for the sophomore season. The Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles actress will play the “enigmatically beautiful” and “dangerous” Isabel Rochev, VP acquisitions at Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated.
In the recent comics, the eccentric Rochev is known for wearing a face mask and wearing the jewellery of Robert Queen, Oliver’s father. She believes herself to be Robert’s true love and the heir apparent to the Queen fortune.
Amell had previously mentioned that the new episodes would see a growing world for Arrow, and that “If he’s going to become the vigilante again or something different, he’s gonna need a new reason”. It sounds like Glau will be part of that reason.
