- Marvel has announced a Spider-Woman ongoing series, from writer Dennis Hopeless and artist Greg Land, out in time for November’s Spider-Verse event
- Marvel have also revealed that a new S.H.I.E.L.D. comic book series will finally hit shelves this year from superstar writer Mark Waid and rotating series of artists
- Former “NYPD Blue” star Charlotte Ross has joined the cast of “Arrow” to play the mother of Felicity Smoak. Meanwhile, J.R. Ramirez has been cast as Wildcat.
- Kelly Frye will play super villainess Plastique on CW’s The Flash
- Guardians of the Galaxy has nabbed the biggest Thursday opening of 2014 with $11.2 million in the US alone.
- From 4 August, Batman co-creator Bob Kane’s personal copies of Detective Comics #27-45 will go up for auction via ComicConnect and Metropolis Auctions
- Finally, Paramount Australia got a bit of unwanted publicity when they released their latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles poster this week, depicting an exploding tower and the local release date: September 11.
