EMERALD CITY COMIC-CON (ECCC) has partnered up with ReedPOP, the folks behind New York Comic-Con, the PAX group of shows, Paris Comic Con, Comic Con India, Australia’s very own Oz Comic-Con and more. The acquisition takes effect as of this year’s show, which runs from 27-29 March 2015 at the Washington State Convention Centre in Seattle.
Jim Demonakos, the founder of ECCC, commented in a press release “We are huge fans of what ReedPOP is doing across the globe in this pop culture space and the ECCC team is excited to have them help us elevate the fan experience at our event. We are also very much looking forward to bringing the ECCC brand of fan-focused events to help ReedPOP amplify their conventions even further.”
ECCC has a reputation for being a fan-focused event that emphasises indie publications and comics creators. This year’s con has a massive line-up of special creator guests, including (but certainly not limited to) the likes of Mike Mignola, Bill Willingham, Skottie Young, Matt Fraction, Bruce Timm, Geof Darrow, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Kieron Gillen, Charles Soule, Francesco Francavilla, Riley Rossmo, Ed Piskor, Steve McNiven, Jason Latour, Jamie McKelvie, David Mack and many, many more.
BEHIND THE PANELS will be attending ECCC this year, so expect to see more about this show in the coming months.
