French publisher Editions Dargaud, one of the biggest publishers of Franco-Belgian bande dessinée in Europe, have released a new trailer showcasing the hotly anticipated fifth volume of the Blacksad series. Simply titled Blacksad: Amarillo, it gives us a terrific sampling of the artwork by Juanjo Guarnido
Dark Horse has published the first four volumes in English, but there is no word yet on when this fifth volume (written by Juan Díaz Canales) will make its way from the French and Spanish tomes to our shores. Earlier this year, Comics and Cola gave us a rough translation of what will be happening in this latest outing across the heartland of America:
‘John Blacksad is tired of all the violence and misery around him, so he decides to take his time before returning home. Luck seems to smile on him when a stranger hires him to deliver his car, a brand new Cadillac Eldorado model, from New Orleans to Tulsa. But the south roads are as dusty as they are unpredictable, and Blacksad unwittingly finds himself driving from one end of the US to another, in order to solve a murder involving biker parades, lawyers, writers and even a bloody circus!’
Check out the trailer and the cover art below. You can also listen to our discussion of the first volume from our weekly podcast.
