Based on the beloved cartoon strip by the late Charles Shulz, Fox and Blue Sky have unveiled a first look at Peanuts, the new film coming from Blue Sky and director Steve Martino.
It’s a very brief look at the animation and only features Charlie Brown and Snoopy, but it appears to reassure many fans who were worried about the use of CGI in this first new theatrical Peanuts film since 1980’s Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (and Don’t Come Back!!). Like The LEGO Movie, it appears to use CGI to replicate a less fluid form of animation, giving a flatter and more nostalgic feel to these characters.
Peanuts is due out in the US on 6 November 2015, and on 1 January 2016, from Fox.
