Entertainment Weekly has revealed the poster art and first images from the upcoming Marvel One-Shot, Agent Carter, a follow-up to Captain America: The First Avenger. Marvel will be releasing the film at an undisclosed location at San Diego’s International Comic-Con next Friday, and then release it wider as part of the Iron Man 3 DVD and Blu-ray in August/September around the world.
Hayley Atwell returns to her role in the proto-S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve.) According to the source, “they do things like…build super-soldiers, fight evil, and go in search of the enigmatic ‘Zodiac’.” Atwell had previously hinted at this role, which she described as “basically ‘What Peggy Did Next’.” The photos below also show us that the film will star Bradley Whitford as a suited man of some kind.
Previous One-Shots have included The Consultant, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer and Item 47.
The Iron Man 3 3D Super Set, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD is available in the US on 24 September, but if you can’t wait until then you can get the HD Digital Copy and HD Digital Copy 3D beginning September 3. Interestingly enough, Disney Australia has this pegged almost a month earlier for 28 August 2013, just as they did with The Avengers set. We really hope that doesn’t mean we will be missing out on the bonus features like we did last time. Stay tuned.
