Sites such as Nerd Bastards, Guard the Galaxy, MTV and Coming Soon are posting set photos from the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, currently being shot in London by director James Gunn.
Shot on the Millennium Bridge on August 11, we get our first look at Glenn Close under heavy special effects makeup, several alien creatures, Nova Corps members and others presumably fleeing Xandar.
In other news, Vin Diesel posted a picture of Groot on his social media pages, fuelling speculation that the mystery role the actor will be playing is none other than the royal tree himself. Given Groot’s only known dialogue is “I am Groot”, it would be a nice callback to Diesel’s early role of voicing The Iron Giant.
The film will also star Michael Rooker as Yondu, Djimon Hounsu as Korath, Lee Pace as Ronan, Karren Gillan as Nebula, Beneicio Del Toro as the Collector, Dave Bautista as Drax, Zoe Saldana as Gamora and Chris Pratt as Star-Lord. Rocket Raccoon is yet to be announced.
Guardians of the Galaxy is released on 1 August 2014 from Marvel Studios via Disney.
