Following Marvel’s announcement that they are keen to release a female-led superhero movie, Battlestar Galactica and Riddick actress Katee Sackhoff spoke to Schmoes Know podcast about the rumours that have been circulating around the interwebs.
While the actress wasn’t entirely sure which studio the character sat with, she did confirm that talks had been happening with Marvel. “There’s been some stuff going on…There’s been a lot of checking of availability. There’s been a lot of questions about the first quarter of next year.” That timing would, of course, be perfect for anything that Marvel might want to include in the late Phase 2/early Phase 3 runs.
There’s also lots of rumours around Sackhoff playing Harley Quinn, but it’s a character she wants to play “100%” following similar comments in the media over the last few months. She’s no strange to the worlds: she played Detective Sarah Essen in the adaptation of Batman: Year One and also voiced She-Hulk in a 2011 episode of Marvel’s The Super Hero Squad Show.
