Following yesterday’s reveal of a ALL-NEW ALL-DIFFERENT MARVEL UNIVERSE coming later in the year, Marvel has revealed another teaser image from artists David Marquez and Matt Wilson, showcasing a new group of characters. It also answers the short-lived question as to which Wolverine would be appearing in the revised line-up. Unlike the previous image, it’s a whole new ballgame with this group of characters.
In some kind of order, we can see:
- Doctor Spectrum of the Great Society, who continues on from Jonathan Hickman’s “Avengers” arcs. Hyperion also appears in the image
- Citizen V, one of the Thunderbolts, who was the alter ego of Baron Zemo. Is this new version Zemo or someone else?
- Star-Lord, who remains delightfully unchanged. However, the Thing and Rocket Raccoon are now wearing matching Guardians of the Galaxy uniforms. The Thing in space
- Inhumans Inferno and Medusa are on the image. Some have suggested that the remaining hooded figure is a street version of the Inhuman Karnak
- Daredevil has a brand new outfit, this one is predominantly black and red, which might be to tie-in with the Netflix TV series, or indicate something else entirely. (How’s that for vague?)
- There are two Wolverines: X-23 wearing a variation of the classic yellow and blue Wolverine suit, and Old Man Logan. Did this just get super awesome?
- Then there’s a familiar Doctor Strange, who is carrying a battle axe to add to his badassery and impressive facial hair.
Marvel is leaving no doubt that they are going for their own “Multiverse” following Secret Wars, where literally any version of a character just might turn up.
The ALL-NEW ALL DIFFERENT MARVEL UNIVERSE is set to launch in the US “Fall” 2015.
