Big changes are coming at Marvel, and it looks as though the Avengers line-up will be getting a reshuffle come May 2015, just in time for a certain blockbuster event film.
With the news that Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers and New Avengers will come to an end in April with issues #44 and #33 respectively, the replacement looks to come swiftly on the heels of that announcement. In case of both books, they have been joined in a single overarching story that has taken us through Infinity, through the current “Time Runs Out” arc and leading to May’s Secret Wars: Battleworld event for Marvel.
Following the template set by Marvel NOW! and the All-New MARVEL NOW!, this teases new creative teams and changes across the entire Avengers line. With Marvel due to make a big announcement concerning Secret Wars on 20 January, we expect the ALL NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT AVENGERS to have a heavy-hitting creative team and a completely different cast of characters. With Secret Wars: Battlefield being made up of different eras of Marvel’s history, it’s possible that this new team will not be fixed to a single era in Avengers history.
