Marvel unleashes third ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ trailer

The Vision in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

How many trailers does a film need? In the case of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, the biggest geeky release this side of a new Star Wars film, as many as inhumanly possible please!

A third trailer has been released by Marvel Studios, this time focusing more on Ultron’s design and creation, and the direct hand that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) has in bringing that about. Once again narrated by Ultron (James Spader), a contempt for humanity is clear, as is the rising tension between Stark and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), perhaps planting some of the seeds for Captain America: Civil War.

Yet it also has cameos from several people and things missing from previous AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON trailers. Firstly, there’s the appearance of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), finally getting to see them both in action. As the “credits” on the trailer roll, we finally see our first live-action glimpses of The Vision (Paul Bettany), a character that Marvel has very consciously kept in the shadows throughout this whole campaign. More importantly, humour makes a bigger appearance in this, something that’s been missing from the trailers and posters so far.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is released on 23 April 2015 in Australia, and 1 May 2015 in the US.
