After teasing an ant sized preview, followed by the human sized equivalent, Marvel has now unveiled its first full teaser trailer for ANT-MAN, the second Marvel film to be released in 2015. In addition to this, Marvel has also released a teaser poster, which EW has graciously magnified for us.
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Doctor Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
In addition to giving us our first good look at the costume and the characters, including a full-on ant riding sequence, it seems to set up the tone of the film nicely: epic, dark in parts, science-based, and like a certain raccoon-based film last year, not afraid of mocking itself.
Curiously, that EW cover is already calling it “Marvel’s risky new movie.” Given that was a label that was liberally applied to last year’s hit Guardians of the Galaxy, this can only be a good sign for Marvel’s tiniest star to date.
Directed by Peyton Reed, and starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll, ANT-MAN is due for release on 17 July 2015 from Disney, on full-sized Giant Man sized screens.
