We wake up to a brave new world where people know who Rocket Raccoon is, thanks to a marvellous trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, one that put aside many of our concerns for the film and had us hooked on a feeling. Marvel are continuing their clever marketing campaign with a series of character-focused vignettes, giving us an overview of each of the main characters in the film. Guardians of the Galaxy is released on 1 August 2014 from Marvel Studios via Disney.
Born on Earth but drawn to the stars, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), self-named “Star-Lord,” must rally our unlikely team of cosmic misfits to prevent a powerful villain from destroying the galaxy! Rocket speaks for the very first time as Bradley Cooper lends his voice to the tiny titan. It’s not what we expected, but it is almost certainly Bradley Cooper. “I basically am Drax,” comments wrestler/actor Dave Bautista. After his home world is destroyed, Drax goes on a journey to avenge his family and destroy the villains that left him for dead. Gamora has earned a reputation as the “Deadliest Woman in the Universe,” and seeks to redeem her past while helping to protect the galaxy with the rest of our Guardians. Zoe Saldana talks about portraying this iconic Marvel character. “I AM GROOT!” Groot (Vin Diesel) may have limited communication skills, but this big guy proves to be a very valuable ally and friend to our band of Guardians.
