It seems that every week we are reporting back on a new guest or four that the wonderful people at Oz Comic-Con, expanding to five states around Australia in 2014. Now OCC are announcing the addition of several comic book artists and actors at the various events.
The latest to join is artist Jon Sommariva, best known for his work on Star Wars Tales, Go Boy 7, Free Realms and as the co-creator of Gemini for Image comics. He will be at the Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney events in 2014! Check his art out over at his official blog.
Agnes Garbowska will be in Adelaide and Perth, and already has a cult following from My Little Pony, Powerpuff Girls, the Spike Micro series. She’ll also be plugging the upcoming Lil’ Dynamite Comics and her self published book You, Me and Zombie (previously available as a web-comic). Her official site is full of cute goodness, and some pretty amazing artwork. Get your sketch-books ready, fans.
Following the success of last year’s appearance of Bill Farmer, the official voice of Disney’s Goofy (and who we interviewed over at The Reel Bits), Oz Comic-Con has added voice actor Jim Cummings to the Melbourne leg of the tour. He’s the current voice for Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too, along with such classics as Darkwing Duck, countless Disney films including The Lion King and Aladdin, DreamWorks’ Shrek, and video games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Baldur’s Gate, and Mass Effect 2. What a thrill to have the man here in the flesh!
Then there’s also Doug Holgate, who should be very familiar to local attendees of ‘cons. He’ll be doing a full lap around the country next year with appearances in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. The Melbourne-based artist will be known for his work on Flight Comics anthology, Planet Tad and Case File 13: Zombie Kid. You can’t go wrong in checking out his official site, The House of Skullduggery.
