Following the news that Disney voice legend Jim Cummings will be hitting up the Melbourne Oz Comic-Con in July next year, the organisers have made the announcement that the voice of Goofy himself, Bill Farmer, will be making his way to the inaugural Sydney and Brisbane shows in September 2014. They’ve also announced that actor Booboo Stewart will join these shows as well.
Bill Farmer is a legend. In fact, in 2009 he was named a Disney Legend by the company and it is easy to see why. Bill Farmer is a voice actor and comedian who has been the official voice of Disney’s Goofy for over 27 years. Along with Goofy, Pluto and Horace Horsecollar for Disney, including the classic A Goofy Movie, Farmer has also appeared as iconic characters such as Foghorn Leghorn, Yosemite Sam and Sylvester in the feature Space Jam. From Astro Boy to Sam and Max Hit the Road, Farmer’s filmography spans video games (Kingdom Hearts, Dead Rising), TV shows (The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse, Robot Chicken) and over 3400 appearances as Goofy! We had the pleasure of chatting with Bill at the Melbourne Oz Comic-Con this year, and you’ll hear him (cleverly disguised as Sam from Sam and Max) introducing our podcast on occasions.
Booboo Stewart is a singer, dancer, model, and actor (a quadruple threat!) probably best known for his role as Seth Clearwater in the Twilight Saga, and he’ll soon be seen as James Proudstar/Warpath in X-Men: Days of Future Past. In 2010, he joined Carrie Fisher in Perth for the Channel Seven Perth Telethon to raise money for the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children.
They will join the Oz Comic-Con 2014 guests that include (across the various states) William Shatner, Kevin Sorbo, Shannen Doherty, Brian Krause, Holly Marie Combs, Michael Hurst, Nana Visitor, David Nykl, Jason Momoa, Amanda Tapping, Gigi Edgley, Chris Judge, Robert Maschio, Corin Nemec, Mike McFarland, Daniel Cudmore, Tristan “T-Rex” Jones, Nicola Scott, Brad Walker, Jon Sommariva, Doug Holgate, Agnes Garbowska, Jim Cummings and Rodger Bumpass.
