We’ve seen a variety of stars of film and television announced so far for the OZ COMIC-CON, but now the organisers are putting the ‘comic’ into the ‘con by adding The Flash writer/artist FRANCIS MANAPUL to the Perth and Adelaide shows in April.
Mapul is best known in the last few years for being the artist on Geoff Johns’ run of The Flash, along with being the writer and artist on the successful New 52 version of the book. In June last year, he took on Detective Comics for DC Comics, not only on art duties but co-scripting with Brian Buccellato. For many, he’ll always be known for his Top Cow work on Witchblade and Necromancer.
Manpul joins fellow comic creators Nicola Scott (Earth 2), Andrew Constant (Fly, Broken Line) and Douglas Holgate (Flight Comics) at the Perth and Adelaide cons, where they’ll be available for signatures, chats, panels and maybe even some sketches.
Other guests include Star Trek‘s Marina Sirtis and Dominic Keating, Buffy alumni Nicholas Brendon, Emma Caulfield and Amber Benson, horror legends Robert Englund and Ken Kirzinger (Freddy vs Jason), Kevin Sorbo and Michael Hurst (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys), Michael Shanks, Ben Browder and Cliff Simon (Stargate: SG-1), Agam Darshi (Sanctuary) and Dominic Keating (Star Trek: Enterprise).
OZ COMIC-CON will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on April 11-12 and at the Adelaide Showgrounds on April 18-19. For more details visit ozcomiccon.com
