At a panel in Comic-Con International in San Diego today, Warner revealed the first photo of Gal Gadot as the Amazonian warrior the world will come to know as Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. With previous photos already released of Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill), this completes the traditional “Trinity” of DC’s superheroes.
While the colours are somewhat desaturated, keeping with the theme of DC’s new cinematic universe, the costume is distinctively that of one of the most iconic members of DC’s canon.
A short trailer, in which Batman was seen uncovered the Bat symbol on a Gotham rooftop with a displeased Man of Steel hovering overhead, was also shown at the pop culture event. The film will mark the first time DC’s most high profile characters have appeared on-screen together in a feature-length live-action film.
Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to be released 6 May 2016. The Australian release date is currently scheduled for 5 May 2016.
