With Disney buying out LucasFilm, Star Wars comics have returned to their original home at Marvel Comics. The House of Ideas has wasted little time in announcing some new comics for their hottest property, putting some of their biggest talents on board as well.
Beginning in 2015, from January through March, Marvel will launch three new titles that are set during the original trilogy of films: Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader and Star Wars: Princess Leia.

Star Wars will launch in January, and will be written by Jason Aaron with art from John Cassaday. Taking place after the events of A New Hope, it sees Han, Leia and Luke facing off against a renewed Darth Vader. So if you ever wondered what happened between Yavin and Hoth, this might be the answer to your prayers.
Next up in February is Star Wars: Darth Vader, because everybody loves a bad guy, right? Marvel doesn’t skimp on the talent by putting Kieron Gillen as scribe and Salvador Larroca on interiors with covers by Adi Granov. This takes place during the same period as the first comic, but will be told from the perspective of the Sith Lord.
Last, but certainly not least, March will see the launch of Star Wars: Princess Leia by the powerhouse team of Mark Waid’s writing and Terry Dodson’s art. This will also cover a similar time period, but will be a mini-series focusing on how Leia copes with the loss of a home following the destruction of Alderaan.
Did Marvel just win the ‘Con?
