Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, following up his 2005 film Sin City, has been delayed almost a year until 22 August 2014. Given there has been no substantive updates lately, this is scarcely surprising news. It was originally due out on 4 October this year.
Based on the series of Dark Horse comics and graphic novels by Frank Miller, the sequel is to be based on A Dame to Kill For, a shot story “Just Another Saturday Night” and several original stories for the film. Newcomers Eva Green, Josh Brolin, Jamie Chung, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple, Ray Liotta, Christopher Meloni and Jeremy Piven will join returning cast members Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Powers Boothe, Mickey Rourke, and Bruce Willis.
Rodriguez also has Machete Kills releasing this year, but no official word has been given on why this delay has occurred. Perhaps the intensive green screen work required for both of his films required more timing, or Rodriguez wants to squeeze another trilogy of films out between now and next August.
