The SMASH! Sydney Manga and Anime Show was held in Sydney today for its seventh year, bringing with it lovers of pop culture from all over Australia. Once again, Behind the Panels was there snapping away and talking to organisers, guests and lots of cosplayers.
It was an amazing crop of costumes in and around the Sydney Convention Centre at Darling Harbour, and the weather was so lovely we managed to get outside and snap a wide variety of costumes. Cosplayers didn’t confine themselves to just anime and manga, with Huntress, Ms. Marvel, Deadpool and even the goddamn Batman turning up for the day.
Don’t forget to also watch our video (below), where we interview cosplayers on why they do what they do so well. We need to thank SMASH! for generously providing us with accreditation and time for interviews.
