DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation has released (via IGN) the first trailer for BATMAN VS ROBIN, the next film in the DC Animated Original Movie line. This marks the first time the New 52 villains The Court of Owls have been brought to life.
Created by Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo in 2011, the timeless organisation has ensured a certain pecking order in the city since Gotham’s earliest days. Although the Grandmaster is voiced by Robin Atkin Downes and Talon voiced by Jeremy Sisto, this adaptation appears to also draw upon the Grant Morrison inspired conflict between Bruce Wayne and his genetically engineered son Damien. Indeed, it not only shares a name with one of Morrison’s arcs, but BATMAN VS ROBIN follows the animated Son of Batman that was released last year.
Jay Olivia will direct, Jason O’Mara, Stuart Allan, Sean Maher, and David McCallum have reprised their roles as Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Alfred Pennyworth respectively, while “Weird” Al Yankovic joins the cast as The Dollmaker.
