Following the recent reveal of the mask from the upcoming CW series The Flash, starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, The CW has revealed the full costume from the forthcoming series. It is a thing of beauty.
There’s no mucking about here: this is a modern take on the classic red and yellow costume, brought to life in the same textured style that has characterised many recent outings.
Designed by Colleen Atwood, the Academy Award winning costume designer for Chicago, Memoirs of a Giesha and Alice in Wonderland, as well as the lead costume on Arrow, it combines functionality with flair. While traditionalist may quibble with some minor details on the outfit, there’s little arguing that this is undeniably the costume we’ve been wait for. Now where’s our action figures?
